I submitted a chapter called “Domains of emergence and decay in vowel harmony: The view from Turkic and Uralic” with Dasha Kavitskaya.
I returned back to the States in July after a year as a Fulbright Scholar in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
My family was interviewed by Forbes magazine in Kazakhstan about our love for the Kazakh people, our time spent in KZ, as well as the linguistic properties of Turkic languages.
I had a blast throughout the entire month of May collecting data from Kazakh and Uyghur speakers in Almaty, Kazakhstan alongside PhD students from Rutgers. Our time together was so much fun!
